Remove No And No Timing Belt Covers

Remove the seven bolts. No.3, No.2 belt covers and gaskets

14. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER

(a) Remove the four bolts, center cover and gasket, lb) Remove the eight cap nuts, seal washers, two head covers and gaskets.

15. REMOVE SPARK PLUGS (See page IG-20)

16. SET NO.1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION

(a) Turn the crankshaft pulley and align its groove with the timing mark "0" of the No.1 timing belt cover (AE and AT) or timing pointer (AW).

(b) Check that the valve lifters on the No.1 cylinder are loose and valve lifters on the No.4 cylinder are tight

If not, turn the crankshaft one revolution (360°).
