(a) Clean the weatherstrip surface with a piece of cloth saturated with white gasoline.
(b) Then, with another rag saturated in white gasoline, clean portions A and B all the way to the bottom of the lip as indicated in the figure.
NOTE: Do not use white gasoline that appears to be dirty.
(c) Apply primer to portions A and B after the white gasoline has dried at least 3 minutes.
NOTE: Use AP131 grade primer or such. The primer is volatile and will form deposits under humid conditions. Therefore, always store primer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use toluene to dilute the primer.
(d) Allow the primer to dry for at least 15 minutes. NOTE: Be careful not to touch portions A and B of the weatherstrip after applying the primer, and attach the weatherstrip within three days.
