Spider Bearing

Disassembly

1. Place matchmarks on the shaft and yoke.

2. Using a brass bar and hammer, slightly tap in the bearing outer race.

3. Using 2 screwdrivers, remove the 4 snap rings from the grooves.

4. Sufficiently raise the part indicated by "A" so that it does not come into contact with the bearing. See Fig. 3 . Using the Universal Joint Bearing Remover & Replacer (09332-25010), push out the bearing from the flange yoke.

5. Clamp the bearing outer race in a vise, and tap off the flange with a hammer.

6. Remove the bearing on the opposite side in the same procedure.

7. Install the 2 removed bearing outer races to the spider, and clamp them in a vise.

8. Using the Universal Joint Bearing Remover & Replacer (09332-25010), push out the bearing from the sleeve yoke.

9. Clamp the outer bearing race in a vise, and tap off the yoke with a hammer.

10. Remove the bearing on the opposite side in the same procedure.

Reassembly

1. Select the appropriate bearing according to the existence of drill mark on the yoke. See SPIDER BEARING SPECIFICATIONS .

2. Apply MP grease to a new spider and bearings.

3. Align the matchmarks on the yoke and shaft.
