Total OBD & ECU Auto Diagnostics
1. Check operation of the VSC buzzer. PREPARATION:
a. Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
c. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check "ON-OFF" function of the VSC buzzer with the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
OK: Check and replace skid control ECU.

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
2. Check voltage between terminal 2 of VSC buzzer and body ground.
PREPARATION:
Remove the VSC buzzer with connectors still connected. CHECK:
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Measure voltage between terminal (2) of VSC buzzer and body ground. OK:
Voltage: 10-14 V
NG: Repair or replace harness or connector from voltage supply to VSC buzzer. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
3. Check VSC buzzer.
PREPARATION:
Disconnect the VSC buzzer connector.
CHECK:
Apply battery positive voltage to the terminals 1 and 2 of VSC buzzer connector, and check that the VSC buzzer sounds.

NG: Replace VSC buzzer.
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
4. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between SKID CONTROL ECU AND VSC BUZZER .
NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK: Check and replace skid control ECU.
TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT
Connecting terminals Tc and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to display the DTC by blinking the ABS warning light, VSC TRAC warning light and BRAKE warning light.

Turn the ignition switch ON. CHECK:

Measure voltage between terminal Tc and CG of DLC3. OK:
Voltage: 10-14 V
OK: If ABS warning light does not blink even after Tc and CG have been connected, the ECU may be defective.
NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
2. With ignition switch OFF, check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between SKID CONTROL ECU AND DLC3, DLC3 AND BODY GROUND .
NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK: Check and replace skid control ECU.
TS TERMINAL CIRCUIT

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
In the sensor check mode, a malfunction of the speed sensor that cannot be judged when the vehicle is stopped is judged while driving.
Transition to the sensor check mode can be performed by connecting terminals Ts and CG of the DLC3 and turning the ignition switch from OFF to ON.
WIRING DIAGRAM
1. Check voltage between terminals Ts and CG of DLC3. CHECK:
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Measure voltage between terminals Ts and CG of DLC3.

OK: If ABS warning light does not blink even after Ts and CG have been connected, the ECU may be defective.
NG: Go to next step.
2. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between SKID CONTROL ECU AND DLC3, DLC3 AND BODY GROUND .
NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK: Check and replace skid control ECU.
CHECK FOR FLUID LEAKAGE
Check for fluid leakage from actuator or hydraulic lines.
