ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT E.F.I. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Check the resistance.

(1) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

1 (E2) - 2 (THW)

2.32 to 2.59 kQ at 20°C (68°F)

1 (E2) - 2 (THW)

0.310 to 0.326 kQ at 80°C (176°F)

NOTICE:

If checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to intrude into the terminals. After checking, wipe the water off the engine coolant temperature sensor. If the result is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.

A/F Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

HINT:

Sensor 1 refers to the sensor mounted in front of the Three-Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) and located near the engine assembly.
